He is leaning to one side to show that the weight is taking it's toll on his back. He's struggling to maintain the balance. The wood symbolizing nature, is level, indicating his success, but for how long?
The Wood is showing signs of weather erosion and insect damage. The reason for it's demise. The different shines of Epoxy on the wood depict how life fades away.
The cement base has wood chips embedded on the top surface. The man is made of three different size copper pipes, then wrapped in copper wire. Everything is sealed in Epoxy resin.
