Hephaestus, god of fire, blacksmith and the art of sculpture, son of Zeus and Hera, was married to Aphrodite.
" I imagined that Hephaestus was a romantic and would create things to impress his unfaithful wife. So one day he decided to create beautiful metal roses that would last forever and never wilt like his love for her."
Each rose is sprayed individually with a glossy cherry red acrylic paint.
I decided to leave some in metal and a few with the metal partially showing, (not fully painted red), for a contrast and to also mimic the morning dew on petals.
I placed the solder flowers on MDF because at times, the weight of the solder depresses parts of the canvas
