Carnevale di Venezia, (The Venice Carnival) is a hauntingly beautiful, mysterious and centuries old celebration. I had the good fortune of traveling to Venice during 'carnevale' where I felt I had traveled back in time to 1162 when Venice celebrated a victory over a neighboring province. Stunning masquarade costumes allowed men and women to hide their identities, giving them a opportunity to frolic and engage in lascivious activities all while hiding behind a mask.
I found inspiration in the female form, and dove deeper into the imaginings of women and their body, looking just as beautiful under their clothing, as without clothes.
The vibrant colors I've chosen are purposefully designed to show my love and respect of the female and her myriad attributes as a mother, lover, sister, daughter.
